Not all management drank the juice as some would say.

The once coveted job at the Apple store turned into a job in which was dreaded.

This caused things to go from awesome to plain horrible. The specific store I worked at was great in the beginning until they made changes to the upper management. The experience is also depended on what store you work for. Sadly the work schedule can be a bit of a drag but the perks make up for it. The company itself offers great benefits and compensation. You gain experience that you will not be able to gain elsewhere. Working for Apple is an extremely great opportunity. Apple is not the way it used to be, maybe that's to be expected, but becoming a robot for profit are not the ideals I admired them so much for. Managers who blatantly promoted their favorites didn't help the atmosphere any. There was pressure to sell what customers may not need just like every other retail environment. We were told it wasn't about profits, it was about the experience. We were told we were doing a disservice to the customer not to sell them these things. Then it became important to sell more iCloud space, Apple Music subscriptions, overpriced iPhone cases that you could find better and cheaper on Amazon. I was always proud to work for Apple because I thought we weren't really retail, we more like heralds of cutting edge technology. Over the years it has become more of a retail environment. At the beginning the products sold themselves, it was fun and no pressure. I was one of their best selling $100 million worth of merchandise in that time. I worked 14 years for Apple as a salesman in a retail store.
